Your Questions About Job Hunting

Ruth asks…

job hunting?

what to wear how to present yourself while job hunting any tips?

Robin West answers:

As far as attire goes – wear something that’s just a bit above what you’d normally wear if you were working in that job. For example (and since I only know men’s fashion…lol), if I were interviewing where the standard attire was business casual (typically no ties), I’d wear a tie. If ties were standard, I’d wear a suit.

How do you present yourself? Confidently – that’s the key.

Michael asks…

Job Hunting?

I have been on martinety leave for almost 3 months now and my boss called me. Our company (we are a big event planning service) has to make budget cuts and since I haven’t been working there long, I was fired!

Does anyone know where I could job hunt in my area BESIDES Job Monster? I have my MBA and worked as a seactratary for a law firm before I had my first child. I have good refrences. I really need a job when I get off maternity leave because I’m getting married in June and I need money for other things too!

Robin West answers:

Did you file for a maternity leave? If so, they can’t fire you while you’re on leave. That’s illegal.

If you have an mba, you won’t have a hard time looking for another job. Spruce up your resume and start sending it out to jobs that you’re interested in.
