ok so this is a long story. My 9 year old sister has a FACEBOOK! I think its totally inappropriate and so does everyone else who has seen it. So my friend Jenna and I made a group on facebook that 9 year old kids should not be allowed to have facebook. This is what the group said..
“Has everyone else has just about enough of all these children on facebook! Posting every 5 seconds, acting like anyone cares what you ate for lunch or how bored you are!! Your 9, GO OUTSIDE, RIDE YOUR BIKE,PLAY WITH LEGOS, GET OFF THE COMPUTER!!! Facebook shouldn’t allow anybody under the age of at LEAST 14 to have a profile. INSANITY!”
My mother read this and FLIPPED out. Ok maybe it was a little rude but if you knew my mother you would understand it takes alot to get through to this woman! Anyway the next day she left a nasty comment on my facebook and I just want to know if anyone else thinks she is crazy and way out of line. Also that she needs to realize that facebook is no place for a 9 year old kid!

To be honest I think looking for jobs on Craigslist is the a great idea. I found my job on Craigslist and my fiance has found more real jobs on there than sites like jobdango and hotjobs. Those site have a lot of larger companies that have hundreds of applications coming in for one position. If you don’t mind the competition those site are fine but small business owners are more likely to use a free site like Craigslist than one you have to pay to use. In my opinion, the easiest jobs to get are those that post an opening but want you to come into their location to apply. That way you know there is an opening and by going to the place you show initiative. Another key things is to make sure you follow up on applications. I know a lot of people who wont hire anyone until they follow up at least twice. That means you’ve been in to drop off your application and spoken with the owner/manager and then came back to talk with them on two different occasions.

what are some good job finding sites that can help teens find jobs?

There aren’t a lot of good websites actually. When I was in high school I worked at the local library. It was a job through the county government. I found out where you could apply for county jobs by looking online and then I went downtown and looked at all the job applications that someone my age could apply for. I also went to places like grocery stores, book stores, just about any store and asked for an application. I got 2 interviews but it took a couple months before anything came up. I didn’t get a call for an interview for three months for the library job, but I got it and in the meantime I worked at a local stable where I took riding lessons. I cleaned tack there.

Not real. You buy the CD for $2. That is the heart of the scam. Once they have your credit card number, you will be billed for $72 a month; every month. When you call to complain, they don’t answer the phone. The only way you can stop them is to cancel your credit card.

See if any friends or neighbours are looking for a babysitter, someone to take their dogs for a walk, shopping, washing the car/windows, gardening etc. You could also pop into local hairdressers to see if they need someone to sweep up, make tea/coffee etc. Takeaways may want you to deliver leaflets, take telephone orders etc. Good luck!
