Do I need a contractor license to start a handyman business in Texas?
I know I need a business license and insurance, I was wanting to know if anyone else knows the legal steps so I will be doing all things the right way….Thanks in advance.
You are wanting to make sure you starting off right. So, I suggest you call your attorney and ask him/her your questions. You might want to do a LLC to protect yourself. For handyman work, you do not need a contractor license. You might be able to add your business insurance to your homeowners as a small business. Call your agent; ask. You aren’t getting bonded, I assume. Get a professional book-keeper to get your books set up right. Good luck and best wishes. I’m sure you will do fine.
