Your Questions About Job Finding Agency

Linda asks…

What do you call an agency that finds you a job and charges you from your income?

I want to find a job and I want to find it through a company that will help me. I know about some companies that find you a job in return for a specific percentage of your income. So what is that kind of company called? I researched online and all I find is staffing agencies that are usually looking for skilled people. I’m 17 years old so I don’t think a staffing agency will help me.

Robin West answers:

Most employment agencies/temp agencies/staffing agencies around here do NOT charge you as the employee. They only charge the companies. What I believe you are referring to are headhunters or high-level recruiters who charge you for their help in finding you a job.

At 17, a headhunter is not for you. These are for people who have years of specific experience in a certain industry.

I do not know if a temp agency can help you-in my area, you have to be 18 to sign on.

Job hunt like it is your job, if you get me. Get up on time, do the job of job hunting (plenty of things to do like make a good CV for each company), finish at a set time, water plants, cook food, eat, relax, walk the dog (or someone elses for a small fee)…

Your Questions About Speech On No Gains Without Pains

William asks…

What is wrong with slave British?

Right. Tonight creep upstairs and peek in on those little beautiful people waiting for their gifts. Have a glass of whatever relaxes you.
In my case its herbal and smokes. Have a think and a chat with your partners. On January 2nd go into your thief banks and CANCEL your Council Tax direct debit in disgust at the snow fiasco and abuse of public care. Then CLOSE all your bank accounts. Get in youre cars vans and bulky taxmobiles and BLOCK the motorways. Call up some friends and neighbours family and tell them do the same then go to London and tell this bunch of lying corrupt suits you are NOT having this crap.
The government in UK pays private contractors as Councils. With YOUR money which is your kids money. The Councils then take the whip off the government and don’t spend it on your needs. NO they cruise around in top range cars STILL fund second homes and attend fancy dinners ALL charged to YOU. So STOP the flow en masse youve seen what travel chaos can do. Then TELL this half baked coalition farce UK how YOU want things done and real jobs NOT agencies pimps. JOBS and FAST. Tell them when you see the first decent pay credit you will consider re opening your bank accounts. Meanwhile bank offshore online and put funds on stocks and shares and elsewhere easily.

Your Questions About No Gains Without Pains Expansion

Carol asks…

what is expansion of the idea’no gains without pains’?

Robin West answers:

I’m not totally sure what you’re on about but i’ll try.

Basically, its saying if you’re gonna gain anything in life, you gotta put up with pain too. You cant expect life to be a breeze.

Life’s full of pain and suffering, as well as good times. Imagine a roller coaster of which you can’t see the track. You’re travelling down it blind. Its called Life. Sometimes it twists, turns, does loops and changes course suddenly but you can’t change it. Now, cos this is a wierd ultra special cool roller coaster, it also has hurdles which you gotta jump and mega steep hills you gotta climb with insane drops on the other side. Those are the pains. These pains could be losing your job or the death of someone close, something like that. But then there are the heaps fun bits which you love the most, the best bits. Those are the gains. These gains could be having kids or getting a good job or whatever.
Then, before you know it, it’s over. The rides ended.

Your Questions About Local Job Listings

David asks…

Anyone else out there having a hard time finding a job?

I am ending my second semester at university soon and I have been looking for jobs for this summer for the past month. I have applied for numerous positions including two Kohls stores, three nursing homes, various positions at two separate Toy’s R Us stores, a rehab clinic, Petco, two restaurants, a retirement home and I also applied for an internship as a speech pathologist assistant at a local center for children with disabilities.
So far no one has called me back for an interview, and I got turned down for one of the four jobs I applied for at Toys R’ Us without even a call-in for an interview. It is funny because most of these positions being advertised have been open since December and they don’t even want to call me in for an interview. And I have previous work experience in retail, landscaping, customer service, and in hospital/ health care settings so I can’t fathom why they won’t even interview me. I even looked over and revised my resume and got more recommendation letters to boost my chances.
I have become obsessed with finding a job that I check online everyday for new listings. I got so desperate last summer I had to travel to Ohio to work for a family member to make some money for college.
If worse comes to worse I will just volunteer at my church and hospital again and look up more scholarships and grants to help me with my fees, undergrad tuition, and for grad school.
Has anyone else had similar troubles finding a job with this terrible economy?
