Your Questions About In Paragraph Citation Apa

Robert asks…
How to use parenthetical citations for the same source in one paragraph (APA)?
For a research paper, I have to summarize the purposes, methods, results, and conclusions of four separate research studies. Since I have no primary knowledge on this topic, and I’m reporting on research studies, basically every sentence is paraphrased. Am I supposed to cite every sentence, even though they’re all from the same source in each paragraph? I’m using APA style. Thank you!
Robin West answers:
If all the sentences are from the same source, the citation can come at the end of the paragraph. If there are ANY intervening sentences, however, either original or from a different source, the citations must be at the appropriate sentences.

Ken asks…
APA Citation on a direct quote from someone?
The teacher that I am learning from in World History requires us to write 22-33 paragraph paper on terrorism and he used a lot of terrorist acts in his speeches. The problem is that I cannot find how to cite him on his words.
How would I cite someone’s words?
Let’s use this as an example –

Your Questions About Custom Made Jordans

Paul asks…
Is giving your boyfriend alot to much?
Ive heard that its bad to give your boyfriend expensive gifts or a lot of gifts because it gives them and idea of depending on you and they wont support you like they because they think you will do everything in the relationship. I am 18 and i have been with my boyfriend for a year and 11 months, I have gotten him things like jordan flops custom made dallas jersey(authentic) and little things like shirts cologne and shoes. he has given me things to like a promise ring and a wii and small things like chocolates flowers and when we are together he pays for my things. We are in a long distance relationship and i don’t see him as much maybe like once every 2 or 3 months. His birthday is coming up so and i want to get him the PS3 Eye but i don’t know if i should or if i should go for something smaller!? Help please? and is the whole boyfriend thing true?

Your Questions About Job Hunting Blues

Ruth asks…
What is the best way to job hunt long distance?
I want to move, but, basically I’m blue collar and untrained.
I’m a 52 year-old male living in a depressed area.
Robin West answers:
If you are not having any luck wih monster.com or hotjobs.com, try to contact a temp agency in the area where you would like to work. You can send them a resume over the internet or through a fax machine, and then they will let you know as soon as they find anything, or if they have anything currently available. Also, the unemployment office in that area can help you find a job.
Lastly, anytime you move more than 100 miles away from where you currently live, you qualify for unemployment. Unemployment takes a percentage of everything you earned in the last 18 months and pays you up to 80% of that. It’s a nice bit of help for when you are trying to find a new job.
Hope this helps.

Michael asks…
I’m trapped in my father’s job and life.?
Oddly enough, I couldn’t find any links to this problem on multiple search engines, so it looks like I’ll have to ask the question myself.

Your Questions About Local Job Listings

Mary asks…
I’m CLUELESS in regards to anything before the interview… How to land a chance at a job?
I’m currently looking at Bed, Bath, and Beyond; JoAnn Fabrics; Michael’s Crafts; A couple of grocery stores; Dunkin Donuts; and will add to the list if I can think of anyone else who may be hiring.
-How do I verify (I found most of these positions in online listings from God knows when, and vague suggestions from people who know I’m looking)/ask (I have other places I’d like to check out, but if they’re hiring, I haven’t heard anything about it.) if a place is hiring? Do I call ahead? Walk in? If it’s the latter, whom do I ask?
-Is the first question always necessary, or is it acceptable to just ask for a job application? Again, who would I see about that?
-Is it really tacky to be in the place for any reason other than to pick up an application? I saw a guy order an application along with his date’s slushie once and it just didn’t seem right. If I decide to conduct a bit of business while my parents (I just turned 16.) are off doing their shopping, is that weird?
-Is it okay to take a lot of random shots? Example: Last time I was at a local restaurant, the owner (who’s friends with my mom) ended up serving us, all the while talking about how difficult it was having only one waitress most weekday afternoons (My ideal schedule…) and the whole “so hard to find good help” rant. I was so tempted to jump in with a “Maybe I could help… Are you hiring?” but didn’t know if it would be a good way to start what would have probably become an impromptu interview.

Yes—–as do sexual predators and other stalkers of the like—–if such websites had existed when my three daughters were growing up—-they would have been required to refrain from such dangers—-

Laura asks…
How many different jobs have you had in your life? Have you found your dream job yet?
Have you found the perfect job that you would do even if they didn’t pay you at all? The job that you would feel like you were not really working but actually doing something that you really like and then on top of that being paid for it? In your opinion or to your best knowledge, what percentage of the population have their dream jobs? Is it really possible to find the perfect job? Are we all biased by our culture when it comes to choosing or accepting a job? Are we all primarily driven by money instead of true interests and abilities?

What are the chances of a college grad finding a good job with no experience ?
What are the chances of a college grad finding a good job with no experience ?
-never had a job
-fresh out of college
-no job experiences
Do have to work for minimum wage ?
What site or places for job hunting ?
In California
Majored in Business Administration
Thanks
Robin West answers:
It will be MUCH harder for you (why didn’t anyone tell you that you should have gotten an internship earlier?), but people like you do find jobs in business. First of all, go to your school’s placement center; they should be able to get you started. As far as sites go, I currently really like www.indeed.com, which has a search engine that pulls job postings from other sites, but I also use www.monster.com, www.careerbuilder.com, www.yahoohotjobs.com, and some specialty sites like www.entertainmentcareers.net and www.teamworkonline.com for our students as well as the search engine on my LinkedIn site.

Your Questions About Local Job Listings

Daniel asks…
Are religious organization allowed to not hire people that are not believers in their religion?
I was looking at the job listings in the site of a local Christian establishment it is a very big facility with a lot of employees (I’m not going to say who because I don’t want to sound like I’m making accusations), but any way they have openings for a lot of various postilions that are not in anyway related to religion, like warehouse forklift operator, warehouse laborer, night shift janitor, and several other maintenance positions that have nothing to do with religion and nothing to do with dealing with the public. Anyway all of there job descriptions even the ones I listed above have this as a requirement “Creation belief statement” that was the exact phrasing. I am curious if it is legal for religious compounds to discriminate in hiring even in non-religious positions?
Christian is the religion of the compound.
I am an atheist if that is what you are asking.
